The Richard and Mary Morrison Foundation Hardship Fund

 

The Richard and Mary Morrison Foundation Student Hardship Fund was established in 2014 to assist Suffolk County Community College students who are experiencing unforeseen financial difficulty that jeopardizes their ability to remain in College.

A student can apply to the fund once per semester, by completing an application with documentation of their financial need and desire to continue their education at Suffolk County Community College.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee and qualified students who are selected for an award will receive up to $1,000 that can be used to offset their tuition, fees and textbook expenses.

Richard & Mary Morrison Foundation

High School sweethearts, Richard and Mary Morrison established their Foundation to continue their family’s efforts to help others. Their motto is, “We will change the world with one random act of kindness at a time, join us.” The Suffolk Community College Foundation's mission to develop resources that enable the College to provide quality educational experiences for it’s students.

There are a limited number of funding opportunities distributed on a rolling basis.

Pending Eviction Pending Water Shut Off Work-Study Sole  Source No Transportation
Water Shut Off Pending Heat Shut Off Part Time Job Sole Source No Books
Heat Shut Off Social Service for Food Over 3 Jobs No Lab / Class Materials
Foreclosed No Unemployment Over 2 jobs No Child Care

Student applicants come from 38 Long Island towns. Over 45 individuals and organizations have to donated to this important cause. Faculty & Staff have donated over $31,000 and rising.
