Edward “Ed” Boughal was appointed to the Foundation Board of Directors in May 2006. He served as Chairman from 2013–2015. Ed’s professional background was both in the private and public sector. He retired as CEO of Suffolk Federal Credit Union in 2007. Ed's involvement with the credit union dates back to 1967 when the credit union was founded. He was a volunteer member and Chairman of the Credit Committee from 1967–1971 as well as the Credit Union's Loan Officer, a member of the Supervisory Committee from 1985–1988 and a member of its Board of Directors from 1988–1999.

Prior to joining the credit union, Ed spent over 30 years with the County of Suffolk. Ed and his wife Gesa have four children, Andy, Sean, Helga and Tim.
