SUBJECT: Out of the Darkness Campus Walk
The College will be hosting its second annual Out of the Darkness Campus Walk on Saturday, April 21st from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on the Ammerman Campus in Selden. This event, which seeks to increase awareness about suicide and raise funds to fight it, will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Join a quarter of a million people from hundreds of cities across all 50 states to raise awareness and funds that will save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.
The campus walk is being sponsored by the Ammerman Campus Honors Club. Anyone interested in further information on the walk can stop by tables in the Babylon Student Center from 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday or Wednesday, April 17th or 18th.
Funds raised through this event allow AFSP to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. We are looking for supporters in the college community who understand the growing concern about suicidal behavior and are willing to do something to bolster efforts to prevent suicide.
