Belinda Pagdanganan

Serving a seven-year term as a Trustee of Suffolk County Community College, Bay Shore’s Belinda Pagdanganan is also a member of the College Foundation’s Board of Directors and until her recent retirement as Manager of Government Relations for Suffolk County where she had worked with global energy supplier National Grid for almost 29 years.  Also an expert in emergency management, Ms. Pagdanganan worked in emergency planning for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant and then focused on utility preparedness under the former LILCO/KeySpan Corporation.   She subsequently accepted the position as Suffolk County’s Director of Emergency Preparedness and later as Deputy Commissioner of Suffolk County’s Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services before returning to the energy industry as National Grid’s Manager of Government Relations. 

 

For over 25 years, Bel has served as a volunteer firefighter with the Brentwood Fire Department where she is now a member of Engine Company 5 and previously held the rank of Captain of the Fire Prevention Company for 10 years.   A veteran community organizer and proud Filipina, Bel has served as a member of the Suffolk County Asian American Advisory Board for approximately 15 years.    

 

A passionate advocate for community college students, Bel chairs the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee and actively raises funds to assist students along their pathways to success through higher education.
