Volunteer or Donate for Grant Campus Food Pantry Recurring event

Saturday, November 16, 2019 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

October 25, 2019

Dear Administrators, Faculty, Staff & Students,

It has been over 44 years since we opened our doors at the Grant Campus. This is now the 43rd year we have distributed Thanksgiving Food Baskets to those of our campus community in need. To think we started with 7 families in Brentwood and last year were able to serve 273 families which numbered over helping over 1200 people. We increased 30 families from the previous year. “We’ve come a long way baby.”

Once again, I am calling upon your kindness; time and generosity to help us in making this year’s program a success. As you know those who receive food baskets are all referrals that have come to our attention. If you are aware of a student in need please let me know at the Campus Activities Office. My number is 6279.

Your help is needed to support the program in a variety of ways. You can contribute money directly or your area wants to put a food basket together. Also, we gladly accept frozen turkeys.

If you do a food basket the following items are needed:

Corn                            Gravy

Turkey                          Dessert

Yams                           Soup

Stuffing                        Cranberry Sauce

Extras: pasta, sauce, jelly, peanut butter, beans, rice, juice, cereal

A money collection has made it easier at our end as I can calculate our number of people and order by the case which makes it easier and safer as no one has to lift heavy cases.

Whatever is your pleasure and easier for you it will work.

Frozen turkeys can be delivered to the food pantry and put directly into the freezers starting the week of NOVEMBER 13th  THROUGH NOVEMBER 23RD . Families will pick up from

CAPTREE COMMONS 113 A/B between November 23, 25, AND 26.

WE WILL BE USING CAPTREE 113 A/B FOR THANKSGIVING DISTRIBUTION TO STUDENTS & THEIR FAMILIES.  WE WILL BE OPEN FROM NOVEMBER 13TH THROUGH DECEMBER 6TH. WE WILL THEN RETURN TO NESCONSET ROOM 11B WHICH IS OUR NEW LOCATION.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT WITH THIS PROGRAM.
